Volunteering with Kalamazoo Valley Habitat for Humanity (KVHH) is more than a day on site, it’s a partnership that helps make safe, affordable housing possible.
As our construction program has grown and project costs have increased, KVHH has transitioned to a Corporate Impact Build model for team volunteer days. Corporate groups now participate as project partners by pairing their volunteer time with a financial contribution that helps cover the real costs of hosting a safe and productive build day, including materials, tools, skilled supervision, and safety resources.
On your build day, your team will work alongside our experienced construction staff on real projects that move a home closer to completion. No prior construction experience is needed. We provide all training, tools, and safety equipment.
Corporate Impact Build days run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday, and may include work on new home construction, rehabilitation projects, or critical home repairs that help families remain safely in the homes they already own. It’s a rewarding team-building experience that directly supports local families.
Each participation level includes a maximum number of volunteers per day, with our highest level accommodating up to 10 volunteers to ensure a safe and meaningful experience on site. For teams larger than 10, we can often schedule multiple build days depending on the selected partnership level. Financial contributions are typically made by the corporation, though some teams choose to have individual participants contribute or fundraise together. Both approaches are welcome and deeply appreciated.
We are grateful for every team that chooses to build with us. Your partnership helps create strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter, and we look forward to working alongside you to make a lasting difference in our community.
